Technical Dossier
The EPRO PR6423 series is an eddy current proximity transducer system engineered for continuous shaft displacement, vibration, and position monitoring in heavy industrial environments. Deployed extensively in petrochemical refineries, nuclear power stations, offshore platforms, and large-scale rotating machinery installations, the PR6423 series forms a core component of machinery protection systems worldwide. Compatible with Bently Nevada 3300 and EPRO MMS6000 monitoring racks, these transducers operate as part of a three-component measurement chain: probe, extension cable, and signal conditioner. The PR6423 probe series covers gap ranges from 0–5 mm to 0–10 mm, with output sensitivities of 8 mV/µm and 4 mV/µm depending on configuration. Operating temperature range: −40°C to +177°C at the probe tip. The series is certified for use in hazardous areas (ATEX, IECEx) and is a direct replacement or cross-reference for Bently Nevada 330100, 330101, 330103, and 330105 probe families.
The PR6423 series was developed by EPRO GmbH (Germany) as a high-precision eddy current transducer platform, later integrated into the Bently Nevada / Baker Hughes ecosystem following corporate acquisitions. Early-generation PR6423 probes used a fixed-cable design with integral armored extension leads. Mid-generation variants introduced modular connector interfaces (CON021, CON031) to allow field replacement of extension cables without disturbing the probe installation — a critical reliability improvement for continuous-process industries where downtime is measured in millions of dollars per hour.
Modern PR6423 variants are fully compatible with EPRO C16 and MMS6120 signal conditioners, as well as legacy Bently Nevada 3300/16 and 3300/20 monitors. The series has entered the mature/end-of-life phase for new OEM procurement; however, the installed base across global refineries and power stations remains substantial, driving sustained demand for spare parts, certified replacements, and lifecycle extension support through specialist distributors such as DriveKNMS.

The PR6423 series is no longer in active OEM production for the majority of variants. Lead times through original equipment channels can exceed 26 weeks, and many sub-variants have been formally discontinued. DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of PR6423 probes, extension cables, and signal conditioners sourced from decommissioned plant equipment, certified surplus, and authorized distribution channels. All units are individually serialized, inspected, and documented prior to dispatch. For plants operating under long-term maintenance contracts or ISO 55000 asset management frameworks, DriveKNMS provides multi-year supply agreements covering the full PR6423 measurement chain — probe, extension cable (PR9268 series), and signal conditioner (PR9376 / C16 series). Cross-reference and interchangeability analysis with Bently Nevada 330100-series probes is available on request.
Each PR6423 probe processed by DriveKNMS undergoes a structured verification protocol prior to shipment. Static sensitivity calibration is performed using a certified non-conductive gap fixture, verifying output linearity across the full measurement range (0–5 mm or 0–10 mm as applicable). Connector integrity — particularly the CON021 and CON031 modular interfaces — is tested for contact resistance, insulation resistance (>100 MΩ at 500 VDC), and mechanical retention force. Cable armor continuity and shield integrity are verified for all integral-cable variants. For units destined for hazardous area installations, ATEX/IECEx marking legibility and enclosure integrity are confirmed against the original certification documentation. Test records are retained and available for customer audit.
