Technical Dossier
The GE IS200 series is the core I/O and control module family deployed within GE's Mark VI and Mark VIe Turbine Control Systems. These systems govern gas turbines, steam turbines, and combined-cycle power generation units across refineries, petrochemical complexes, nuclear auxiliary systems, and LNG terminals worldwide. The IS200 platform represents GE's transition from the earlier Mark V architecture to a fully distributed, triple-redundant control topology. Installed base spans hundreds of power generation facilities across North America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe, making IS200 one of the most widely maintained legacy turbine control platforms in heavy industry.
The IS200 series was introduced in the mid-1990s as the hardware backbone of the Mark VI Turbine Control System, replacing the earlier Mark V (IS200 predecessor boards used in Mark IV/V environments). The architecture is built around a VME-based backplane with dedicated I/O terminal boards interfacing to field devices via JR, JS, JT, and JD connectors. Early IS200 modules operated exclusively with the UCSC/UCVH controller cards. As GE evolved the platform into Mark VIe (circa 2005–2010), the IS200 series was extended with Ethernet-capable variants and IONet communication support, while maintaining backward compatibility with legacy Mark VI racks. By 2015, GE had formally transitioned new installations to the Mark VIe distributed I/O architecture (IS420 series), placing the IS200 series in a mature/end-of-life support phase. Facilities running IS200-based Mark VI systems now rely on third-party MRO suppliers for spare parts, as OEM production has ceased for the majority of IS200 board variants.
The following IS200 modules are classified by functional category. All models listed are confirmed IS200 series components used in Mark VI and compatible GE turbine control environments.

GE ceased active production of the majority of IS200 series boards between 2012 and 2018. Facilities operating Mark VI systems are now entirely dependent on the secondary MRO market for replacement modules. DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of IS200 series boards sourced from decommissioned turbine control panels, certified refurbishment programs, and global surplus channels. We specialize in locating low-volume, high-criticality modules such as IS200STCIH2A, IS200UCVEH2A, and IS200TSVOH1A — components that are frequently unavailable through standard distribution. All sourced units are traceable to original GE manufacturing documentation where available. For facilities requiring long-term maintenance agreements or multi-unit procurement for planned outages, DriveKNMS provides dedicated project sourcing with lead time commitments.
IS200 series modules present specific testing challenges due to their VME backplane architecture, multi-layer PCB construction, and mixed analog/digital signal paths. DriveKNMS applies the following verification procedures to all IS200 units prior to dispatch: (1) Visual inspection for PCB delamination, corroded edge connectors, and damaged SMD components common to aged IS200 boards. (2) Backplane continuity testing using IS200-compatible VME test fixtures to verify all bus lines. (3) Functional power-on testing under controlled 5 VDC / 24 VDC supply conditions to confirm module initialization and LED status behavior. (4) For terminal boards (IS200STCIH2A, IS200TRLYH1A, IS200TSVOH1A): connector pin-out verification against GE GEH-6721 and GEH-6722 technical reference manuals. (5) Burn-in testing for CPU and communication modules (IS200UCVEH2A, IS200EPCTG1A) under simulated rack load conditions. All units ship with a test report and 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects.
