Technical Dossier
The AGEIDA 211QS Series is a mature, field-proven line of distributed control system (DCS) and programmable logic controller (PLC) modules with documented deployment across global heavy industry — including petrochemical refineries, nuclear power generation facilities, offshore oil and gas platforms, and large-scale chemical processing plants. The 211QS platform is characterized by deterministic scan-cycle performance, a robust proprietary backplane communication architecture, and backward compatibility with legacy AGEIDA rack chassis systems. Installed base counts in the tens of thousands of units across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. For plant maintenance engineers and reliability teams, long-term spare parts availability for this series is a tier-1 operational concern.
The 211QS Series was introduced as part of AGEIDA's second-generation modular control platform, succeeding earlier fixed-function controller designs that offered no field-replaceable I/O. Early hardware revisions (Rev A and Rev B) utilized a parallel backplane bus with a proprietary token-passing arbitration protocol, limiting each rack chassis to a maximum of eight module slots. Throughput constraints at this revision level made the platform unsuitable for high-channel-count applications without multi-rack expansion.
Mid-generation revisions (Rev C and Rev D) replaced the parallel bus with a serialized high-speed backplane, increasing aggregate throughput and supporting up to 16 modules per rack. Rev D introduced redundancy handshaking for both CPU and power supply modules, enabling hot-standby failover configurations with bumpless transfer and no process interruption. Firmware versions 3.x and above added online module replacement (OMR) capability for I/O modules without rack power-down.
Cross-revision compatibility is constrained: Rev A/B I/O modules are not electrically compatible with Rev D backplanes without a dedicated interposer adapter (part number 211QS-ADAPT-RD). Engineers managing mixed-revision installations must verify the backplane revision code stamped on the chassis rail before substituting modules. The 211QS Series has entered end-of-active-production status. AGEIDA no longer manufactures new units. DriveKNMS maintains verified inventory of tested surplus and factory-refurbished modules to support lifecycle extension and long-term maintenance agreement (LTMA) programs.
The following SKUs represent the documented 211QS Series module range, classified by functional category. All models listed are confirmed members of the 211QS platform. No cross-series substitutions are included.

With the 211QS Series in end-of-active-production status, procurement teams face extended lead times, allocation constraints, and elevated counterfeit risk when sourcing through general distribution channels. DriveKNMS operates a dedicated lifecycle support program for the 211QS platform, maintaining physical stock of both high-velocity and low-volume SKUs sourced from decommissioned plant equipment, authorized surplus channels, and factory-refurbished units returned through controlled trade-in programs.
All units received are serialized upon intake, cross-referenced against documented counterfeit indicators specific to the 211QS form factor and PCB revision markings, and stored in ESD-controlled, climate-regulated warehouse environments. DriveKNMS fulfills single-unit emergency orders for unplanned outages as well as bulk procurement contracts structured around planned maintenance shutdowns and turnaround events. Customers operating under long-term service agreements (LTSA) are encouraged to contact the DriveKNMS procurement team to establish a dedicated consignment stock arrangement with guaranteed availability windows.
The 211QS Series employs a proprietary backplane bus protocol that requires functional validation beyond standard power-on continuity testing. DriveKNMS applies a documented multi-stage test protocol to all 211QS modules prior to shipment:
