Technical Dossier
The M2I XTOP series is a line of industrial Human-Machine Interface (HMI) touch panels manufactured by M2I Corporation (South Korea). These units are deployed across heavy industrial sectors including petrochemical plants, power generation facilities, water treatment infrastructure, and discrete manufacturing lines throughout Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. The XTOP platform is characterized by its TFT LCD display technology, embedded Linux or Windows CE runtime environments, and multi-protocol communication support — making it a standard-specification HMI for both OEM machine builders and system integrators operating Siemens, Mitsubishi, LS Electric, and Modbus-based control architectures. The series spans display sizes from 4.3 inches to 15.6 inches, with resistive and capacitive touch variants, and supports RS-232/422/485, Ethernet, USB, and CAN bus interfaces depending on model.
M2I introduced the XTOP platform in the mid-2000s as a successor to its earlier TOP series, which used monochrome and early-generation color displays with proprietary serial communication only. The XTOP generation introduced TFT color displays, expanded memory (Flash + DRAM), and Ethernet connectivity as standard on mid-range and above models. Early XTOP units (circa 2006–2012) ran on Windows CE 5.0 and used M2I's proprietary XDesignerPlus 3.x development environment. From approximately 2013 onward, M2I transitioned higher-end XTOP models to Windows CE 6.0 and later embedded Linux, with XDesignerPlus 4.x providing backward-compatible project migration. The XTOP07TW-UD specifically belongs to the widescreen (16:9) sub-family introduced to align with modern display panel standards. Compatibility considerations: projects developed in XDesignerPlus 3.x require manual migration for deployment on CE 6.0 or Linux-based XTOP units. Communication drivers for legacy PLCs (e.g., Mitsubishi FX, LSIS XGT) are maintained in the driver library but must be verified against firmware version.
The following SKUs represent verified models within the M2I XTOP series, organized by display size and interface class. Each entry reflects the primary functional specification of that unit.

XTOP panels present specific test requirements due to their integrated display, touch controller, and communication backplane architecture. DriveKNMS applies the following verification protocol to all XTOP units processed through its facility: (1) Visual inspection of LCD panel for dead pixels, backlight uniformity, and bezel integrity. (2) Touch calibration verification across the full active area using a standardized grid test pattern. (3) Communication port continuity and signal-level testing on all RS-232/422/485 and Ethernet interfaces. (4) Firmware version identification and documentation — critical for XDesignerPlus project compatibility matching. (5) Power-on functional test with M2I's standard demo project to verify display rendering, touch response, and communication driver initialization. (6) USB host/device port enumeration test (applicable to -UD suffix models including XTOP07TW-UD). Units that do not pass all stages are quarantined and not listed as available stock. Test records are retained and available to customers upon request for regulated-industry procurement requirements.
