Technical Dossier
The Control Technology Corporation (CTC) 2000 Series represents a mature, widely deployed family of industrial I/O and control modules used across continuous-process industries including petrochemical refining, pulp and paper manufacturing, power generation, and water treatment infrastructure. The CTC 2207 is a channel analog input module within this architecture, designed to interface field-level analog signals (4–20 mA / 0–10 V) with the CTC supervisory control backplane. Installations of the 2000 Series remain active in facilities across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, where the platform's deterministic scan cycle and robust backplane communication have made it a long-term standard for legacy DCS and hybrid control architectures.
The CTC 2000 Series was introduced as a modular, rack-based control platform targeting mid-scale process automation. Early revisions (circa late 1980s–early 1990s) established the backplane bus standard that all subsequent I/O modules conform to, enabling field-level hot-swap capability within the rack chassis. The architecture separates CPU/controller modules from I/O modules via a passive backplane, allowing independent replacement of analog input, analog output, digital input, digital output, and communication adapter cards without full system shutdown.
As the platform matured through the 1990s and into the 2000s, CTC introduced enhanced resolution variants (12-bit to 16-bit ADC), expanded channel density per module slot, and HART pass-through capability on select analog input cards. The 2207 occupies the standard analog input tier of this evolution — a fixed-channel, non-HART module suited for conventional 4–20 mA transmitter loops. Compatibility across 2000 Series generations is maintained at the backplane connector level, though firmware revisions on the CPU module may affect channel addressing for later I/O cards. End-of-manufacture status for the 2000 Series was reached in the mid-2010s; however, the installed base remains substantial, and aftermarket support is the primary sourcing channel for replacement modules.
The following SKUs represent verified, commonly encountered modules within the CTC 2000 Series platform. Classification follows functional module type.

The CTC 2000 Series reached end-of-manufacture status, and OEM replacement stock is no longer available through standard distribution channels. DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of tested, pull-out, and refurbished 2000 Series modules sourced from decommissioned plant equipment and controlled surplus channels. For facilities operating legacy CTC 2000 installations, DriveKNMS provides lifecycle extension support including: verified functional testing of analog I/O modules against original CTC calibration specifications; cross-reference matching for modules where the original part number has been superseded or relabeled; and emergency same-day quotation for critical spares. The CTC 2207 and related analog input variants are among the most frequently requested modules in this series due to their high channel utilization in transmitter-dense process areas.
Each CTC 2000 Series module processed by DriveKNMS undergoes a structured verification protocol before dispatch. For analog input modules including the 2207, this includes: backplane connector inspection for pin deformation and oxidation; powered functional test with simulated 4–20 mA loop inputs across all channels; ADC linearity verification at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of input span; and isolation resistance measurement between channel commons and chassis ground. Communication adapter modules are tested for bus arbitration response and data integrity under simulated master polling. CPU modules are verified for program load/execute cycles and watchdog timer function. All modules are shipped with a test report and a 12-month warranty against functional failure.
