Technical Dossier
The YOKOGAWA SAT145 series represents a core analog input subsystem within the CENTUM CS/CS3000 Distributed Control System (DCS) platform. Deployed extensively across global heavy industries — including petrochemical complexes, nuclear power facilities, LNG terminals, and crude oil refineries — the SAT145 range provides high-density thermocouple and RTD signal conditioning with direct backplane integration into the CENTUM field control station (FCS) architecture. Its installed base spans facilities in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America, where long-term operational continuity requirements of 20–30 years make spare parts availability a critical procurement concern.
The SAT145 series was introduced as part of YOKOGAWA's CENTUM CS platform in the mid-1990s, designed to replace discrete signal conditioning hardware with integrated, bus-coupled I/O modules. Early variants supported basic thermocouple types (K, J, T) with 8-channel density. As the CENTUM CS3000 platform matured through the 2000s, the SAT145 line expanded to include multi-range RTD inputs, higher channel counts, and enhanced noise rejection for electrically harsh environments.
The transition from CENTUM CS to CENTUM VP (introduced circa 2008) introduced the AAT141 and AAT145 series as functional successors, offering improved diagnostics, HART pass-through capability, and higher channel density. However, the SAT145 series remained in active production support through the 2010s due to the large installed base of CS3000 systems. As of 2026, the SAT145 series is in the mature/end-of-life phase. YOKOGAWA no longer manufactures new units for most sub-models; procurement is dependent on certified refurbished stock, new-old-stock (NOS), and third-party MRO suppliers. Long-term maintenance support for SAT145-equipped systems requires a proactive spare parts strategy.
The following SKUs represent the verified SAT145 series module range. Each entry reflects a distinct hardware configuration within the CENTUM CS/CS3000 I/O subsystem.

DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory program for end-of-life YOKOGAWA CENTUM modules, including the full SAT145 range. As YOKOGAWA has transitioned its active product line to the CENTUM VP platform, procurement of SAT145 modules through standard distribution channels has become unreliable. DriveKNMS sources SAT145 units through decommissioned plant buybacks, certified refurbishment pipelines, and verified new-old-stock holdings.
All SAT145 units supplied by DriveKNMS are accompanied by functional test documentation, traceability records, and a minimum 12-month warranty against hardware failure. For customers operating CENTUM CS3000 systems with a defined decommission horizon of 5–15 years, DriveKNMS offers blanket order agreements to reserve allocated stock against future maintenance requirements. This eliminates unplanned downtime risk caused by spot-market unavailability of critical I/O modules.
The SAT145 series employs a proprietary YOKOGAWA backplane bus protocol for communication with the FCS processor. Standard bench testing is insufficient to validate module integrity; DriveKNMS utilizes a CENTUM CS3000 live test rack environment to perform end-to-end functional verification of each SAT145 unit prior to shipment.
The test protocol covers: cold junction compensation accuracy (±0.5°C tolerance), full-range linearity sweep across all supported thermocouple and RTD types, backplane bus communication handshake verification, channel isolation resistance measurement (>100MΩ), and burn-out detection circuit validation. Modules exhibiting any parameter deviation outside YOKOGAWA factory specification are quarantined and not released for sale. Test reports are available upon request for all shipped units.
