Installed across petrochemical refineries, nuclear power stations, offshore platforms, pulp and paper mills, and large-scale chemical processing facilities, the Advant OCS / MOD 300 platform has accumulated decades of field-proven reliability. Compatibility across generations is constrained by backplane bus voltage levels (5 VDC logic vs. 24 VDC field power), module slot addressing schemes, and firmware revision dependencies. Substituting a module across major hardware revisions requires verification of the backplane revision code, the controller firmware version, and the I/O database configuration in the Advant Engineering Station (AES). Failure to validate these parameters results in non-recognition of the module at startup or incorrect scaling of process values.
