The Evolution of PM800 Architecture

The PM800 Series was introduced as part of ABB's Freelance 2000 DCS platform in the late 1990s, succeeding earlier PROCONTIC and MASTER series controllers. The initial PM810 and PM820 variants established the foundational backplane bus architecture using the AF100 fieldbus protocol.
