HSSI series modules incorporate a multi-layer backplane bus architecture with proprietary serial arbitration logic. Standard refurbishment and testing procedures applied by DriveKNMS for this series include: full power-on self-test (POST) verification against OEM diagnostic codes; channel-by-channel functional verification for all I/O points using calibrated signal sources; backplane connector inspection and re-tensioning to OEM torque specifications; EEPROM firmware version identification and documentation; thermal cycling stress test (10 cycles, -10°C to +60°C) for modules destined for high-reliability applications; and isolation resistance testing between channel commons and chassis ground per IEC 61010-1 requirements. Modules exhibiting intermittent bus communication faults — a known failure mode in aged HSSI-200 generation units due to capacitor degradation on the serial transceiver circuit — undergo targeted component-level repair before functional retest.
