Proximity probes present specific QC challenges distinct from digital I/O or CPU modules: the eddy-current sensing coil, armored cable impedance, and connector integrity must all be verified as a matched system. DriveKNMS applies the following test protocol to all 330101 units prior to dispatch:
Step 1 — Visual and mechanical inspection: Probe tip face examined under 10× magnification for corrosion pitting, mechanical damage, or epoxy delamination. Cable armor inspected for kinks, crush damage, and jacket integrity. Connector pins checked for fretting corrosion and proper seating depth.
Step 2 — Coil impedance measurement: Probe coil resistance measured at 25°C reference temperature. Acceptable range per Bently Nevada specification: 7.0–9.0 Ω. Out-of-tolerance units are quarantined.
Step 3 — System sensitivity verification: Each probe is bench-tested with a matched 330130 extension cable and 330180 proximitor against a calibrated steel target (AISI 4140). Gap swept from 0.25 mm to 2.54 mm. Output linearity verified against 7.87 V/mm ± 5% specification across full gap range.
Step 4 — High-potential (Hi-Pot) test: Cable insulation tested at 500 VDC for 60 seconds. Leakage current must not exceed 1 mA.
