Technical Dossier
The Bently Nevada 330104 Series is a family of eddy-current proximity probes engineered for continuous, non-contact vibration and position measurement in rotating machinery. Deployed across petrochemical refineries, nuclear power stations, LNG terminals, offshore platforms, and heavy industrial compressor trains, the 330104 Series forms the sensing front-end of the 3300 XL and legacy 3300 monitoring systems. Its installation base spans hundreds of thousands of measurement points globally, making it one of the most widely referenced proximity probe series in the condition monitoring industry. The series operates on the eddy-current principle: a high-frequency oscillator drives the probe tip coil, and any conductive target within range induces eddy currents that alter the coil impedance, producing a DC voltage output proportional to the gap distance. Standard output sensitivity is 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil), compatible with all Bently Nevada 3300-series signal conditioning drivers and proximitors.
The following SKUs represent the core 330104 Series product matrix, organized by cable length, tip configuration, and measurement standard. Each model produces a 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) output and is rated for –35°C to +177°C operating temperature.

Each 330104 Series probe processed by DriveKNMS undergoes a structured verification protocol before dispatch. Gap voltage linearity is verified across the full 0–2.54 mm (0–100 mil) measurement range using a calibrated non-ferrous target plate and a Bently Nevada-compatible proximitor driver (330180 or equivalent). Output sensitivity is confirmed at 200 mV/mil ±1% at 25°C. Cable continuity and insulation resistance are tested at 500 VDC to detect jacket degradation or internal conductor damage. Connector integrity — including the standard 9-pin MIL-spec connector where fitted — is inspected under 10× magnification. Armored cable variants are flex-tested at the armor termination point, which is the primary mechanical failure location in field-returned units. All test data is logged per serial number and available on request. Units failing any parameter are quarantined and not returned to inventory.
