The 84661-21 is a factory-terminated interconnect cable assembly designed to provide a low-noise, shielded signal path between the Velomitor sensor body and the monitor input barrier or junction box. It is rated for continuous operation in high-temperature, high-vibration environments and is a direct replacement component for aging cable assemblies in long-running installations.
Bently Nevada introduced the Velomitor transducer platform in the early 1990s as a solid-state alternative to traditional moving-coil velocity sensors. The original CT (Compact Transducer) variant established the 4–20 mA output convention and the M12 connector interface that persists across the entire product family. The XA (Extended Amplitude) variant followed, extending the usable frequency range from 2–1000 Hz to 2–2000 Hz to address high-speed turbomachinery applications. The ST (Standard) variant introduced a stainless-steel housing rated to IP67 for wash-down environments in food processing and marine installations.
Integration with the 3500/42M Proximitor/Seismic Monitor module standardized the cable pinout and impedance requirements, which the 84661-21 cable assembly is built to satisfy. As the 3500 rack migrated from ISA to PCI backplane architecture in the mid-2000s, cable assemblies were re-qualified but the connector and shielding specification remained backward-compatible. Facilities running original 7200 Series monitors must verify connector termination type before ordering; adapter pigtails are available.
