The Evolution of SP4000 Architecture

The Ovation SP4000 I/O family was introduced as part of Emerson's transition from the older WDPF (Westinghouse Distributed Processing Family) platform, which relied on proprietary bus structures incompatible with modern Ethernet-based supervisory layers.
