The GE Fanuc VersaMax series (IC200 platform) is a modular programmable logic controller system deployed across global heavy industry sectors including petrochemical refineries, nuclear power auxiliary systems, offshore platforms, and continuous-process manufacturing. The Evolution of VersaMax Architecture

The VersaMax platform was introduced by GE Fanuc Automation in the late 1990s as a successor to the Series 90 Micro and a complement to the Series 90-30 (IC693) line. The IC200 designation covers the core VersaMax CPU, power supply, and I/O module family. Expansion power supplies (IC200PWR101, IC200PWR102) serve remote I/O expansion racks. As the platform matured, GE (later rebranded under Emerson / Intelligent Platforms, then acquired by Emerson) transitioned support to the RX3i (IC695) platform, placing the IC200 series in a long-term maintenance phase. Compatibility between IC200 and IC695 is not direct; migration requires hardware replacement and logic re-validation.
