Technical Dossier
The LINTEC CX Series represents a generation of distributed control system (DCS) and programmable logic controller (PLC) modules deployed extensively across heavy industrial sectors including petrochemical refining, chemical processing, nuclear power auxiliary systems, and continuous-process manufacturing. Installed base records indicate CX Series hardware remains operational in facilities across East Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, where long equipment replacement cycles and high recertification costs make original-part sourcing a persistent operational requirement. The CX-2415PS is a power supply and control interface module within this series, designed for rack-mounted backplane integration in LINTEC control cabinets.
The LINTEC CX Series was introduced as part of LINTEC's mid-generation DCS platform, succeeding earlier relay-logic and discrete I/O panels. The architecture is built around a passive backplane bus with card-edge connectors, supporting hot-swap capability on select module types. Early CX variants used parallel bus addressing; later revisions incorporated serial field bus compatibility layers to interface with HART and RS-485 instrumentation networks. The series spans multiple sub-families differentiated by I/O density, CPU processing tier, and communication protocol support. Compatibility between sub-generations requires verification of backplane revision codes and firmware baseline versions. Modules from early production runs (pre-2005 date codes) may require firmware re-flashing when integrated into updated rack assemblies. The CX Series has entered the mature/end-of-life phase of its product lifecycle; LINTEC no longer lists active production for the majority of CX module types, making third-party inventory and refurbishment the primary supply channel for maintenance operations.
The following SKUs represent verified models within the LINTEC CX Series. Modules are classified by functional category.
Power Supply & Control Interface
CPU & Processor Modules
Analog Input (AI) Modules
Analog Output (AO) Modules
Digital Input (DI) Modules
Digital Output (DO) Modules
Communication & Network Adapters
The LINTEC CX Series is no longer in active production. OEM support contracts have lapsed for the majority of installed sites, and factory repair services are discontinued for modules with date codes prior to 2010. DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of CX Series modules sourced through decommissioned plant buybacks, controlled-environment warehousing, and verified refurbishment programs. For end-users operating CX Series hardware in extended lifecycle environments, DriveKNMS provides: direct replacement units for critical modules including the CX-2415PS, tested pull-out boards from decommissioned racks, cross-reference support for identifying functional equivalents where direct replacements are unavailable, and documentation retrieval assistance for legacy wiring diagrams and configuration files. Lifecycle extension support is available for facilities requiring 5–15 year maintenance horizons beyond OEM end-of-support dates.
CX Series modules present specific test challenges due to their passive backplane bus architecture and mixed analog/digital signal paths. DriveKNMS applies the following verification procedures to all CX Series inventory prior to dispatch: backplane connector pin continuity and impedance verification using automated bed-of-nails fixtures; power rail load testing at 80%, 100%, and 110% of rated current for all PS-class modules including the CX-2415PS; analog channel calibration verification against NIST-traceable references for all AI and AO modules; digital I/O functional cycling at rated voltage with optical isolation integrity check; communication module loopback testing at full baud rate with error-frame injection; and visual inspection for capacitor ESR degradation, PCB delamination, and connector oxidation. Modules that fail any test stage are quarantined and not offered for sale. Refurbished units are clearly identified with refurbishment date codes and test certification records.
