Technical Dossier
The OMRON K3TE series is a line of compact digital panel meters engineered for precision measurement and display of process variables in heavy industrial environments. Deployed across chemical processing plants, petroleum refineries, power generation facilities, and nuclear utility infrastructure, the K3TE series occupies a critical role in panel-level instrumentation where reliable real-time readout of voltage, current, temperature, and frequency is non-negotiable. Its DIN-rail-compatible form factor and broad input range compatibility have made it a standard specification in control panel builds across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas for over two decades. The K3TE-V315 specifically handles AC voltage measurement and remains one of the most widely installed variants in legacy SCADA and DCS panel assemblies.
The K3TE series was introduced by OMRON as a successor to earlier analog panel instrumentation, providing digital readout accuracy in a compact 48×24mm front-panel footprint. Early variants focused on single-input DC voltage and current measurement. Subsequent revisions expanded the input range to cover AC voltage (V3xx), AC/DC current (A3xx), temperature via thermocouple and RTD (T3xx), frequency (F3xx), and process signal (4–20mA / 1–5V) inputs. The architecture relies on a dedicated A/D conversion front-end, a 3½ or 4-digit LED display, and configurable alarm relay outputs on select models. Compatibility across the K3TE range is governed by the input type suffix and power supply suffix — mixing incompatible variants in the same panel bus is a known integration risk in retrofit projects. As the K3TE series has entered its mature/end-of-life phase, OMRON's current recommended migration path is toward the K3HB and K3MA series for new installations. However, the installed base of K3TE units in operational facilities remains substantial, and direct replacement sourcing continues to be the primary maintenance strategy for facilities that cannot justify a full panel retrofit.
The following SKUs represent verified, commonly stocked models within the OMRON K3TE series, organized by input/function category. Each model is a discrete, independently orderable unit.

The K3TE series has been formally discontinued by OMRON for new production orders. Standard distribution channels no longer carry stock for the majority of K3TE variants, including the K3TE-V315. DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of new-old-stock (NOS) and reconditioned K3TE units sourced through verified industrial surplus and OEM channel partners. For facilities operating under long-term maintenance contracts — particularly in nuclear, petrochemical, and utility sectors where panel replacement is subject to regulatory approval cycles — DriveKNMS provides lifecycle extension support including unit-level replacement, functional equivalency documentation, and cross-reference to current OMRON K3HB/K3MA alternatives where direct substitution is not feasible. Procurement teams requiring traceability documentation, country-of-origin certificates, or batch test reports can request these at the time of order.
Each K3TE unit processed by DriveKNMS undergoes a structured functional verification protocol prior to dispatch. Testing covers: input signal injection across the full rated measurement range to verify A/D conversion linearity and display accuracy; alarm relay actuation testing at both setpoint thresholds; power supply input tolerance verification (85–264VAC where applicable); and front-panel display segment integrity check. For units with relay outputs, contact resistance and switching endurance are verified against OMRON's published specifications. Units that fail any test parameter are quarantined and not offered for sale. Test records are retained per unit serial number and are available upon request for regulated industry procurement.
