Technical Dossier
The Delem DA-51 is a dedicated CNC press brake control system developed by Delem (Netherlands), one of the foremost OEM suppliers of CNC controllers for metal forming machinery. The DA-51 series is deployed across heavy industrial environments globally — including automotive stamping plants, structural steel fabricators, shipbuilding facilities, and precision sheet metal workshops. Its graphical 2D programming interface, integrated angle correction algorithms, and multi-axis synchronization capability made it a standard specification on press brakes manufactured by Amada, Trumpf, LVD, Bystronic, and Durma throughout its production lifecycle. The DA-51 remains in active service across thousands of machines in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, making spare parts availability a critical operational concern for maintenance engineers and plant managers.
The DA-51 was introduced as a successor to the DA-41 and DA-48 series, incorporating a 32-bit processor architecture and a higher-resolution graphical display compared to its predecessors. The control platform is built around a modular backplane design: a central CPU board communicates with peripheral I/O, axis drive, and display modules via a proprietary internal bus. Early DA-51 units used CRT-based display assemblies; later revisions transitioned to flat-panel LCD screens, of which the DA-51 8051-006 System Screen is a primary replacement component.
The DA-51 is compatible with Y1/Y2 dual-axis hydraulic press brake configurations and supports up to 6 controlled axes depending on firmware version. Its RS-232 and later RS-422 communication ports enabled DNC integration with CAD/CAM systems. As the DA-51 has entered the mature/end-of-life phase of its product lifecycle, Delem has transitioned customers toward the DA-66T and DA-69T platforms. However, the installed base of DA-51 machines remains substantial, and OEM spare parts have become increasingly scarce through standard distribution channels. Long-term maintenance support — including refurbished boards, tested replacement screens, and firmware-matched assemblies — is now the primary sourcing pathway for DA-51 operators.
The following SKUs represent verified components within the Delem DA-51 control system ecosystem, organized by functional category:
Display & Screen Assemblies
CPU & Main Controller Boards
I/O Modules
Axis & Drive Interface
Power Supply & Backplane
Communication & Fieldbus
The DA-51 series has been officially discontinued by Delem. New production of DA-51-specific boards and assemblies has ceased, and authorized distributor stock is largely depleted. DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of tested, refurbished, and new-old-stock (NOS) DA-51 components sourced through controlled industrial surplus and OEM overstock channels. All units are inspected against original Delem specifications prior to dispatch. For operators requiring long-term maintenance support — including multi-year spare parts agreements for DA-51-equipped press brake fleets — DriveKNMS provides lifecycle extension services including cross-reference to compatible successor components where direct replacements are unavailable. Inquiries for bulk or scheduled supply contracts are handled directly by the technical sales team.
DA-51 components present specific test challenges due to the proprietary backplane bus architecture and the interdependency between the CPU board, I/O modules, and display assembly. DriveKNMS applies a multi-stage verification protocol to all DA-51 units: incoming inspection confirms physical integrity of connectors, PCB traces, and component population against reference schematics. Functional testing is performed on a dedicated DA-51 test bench replicating the full backplane environment, verifying bus communication, I/O channel response, encoder feedback processing, and display output. Screen assemblies such as the DA-51 8051-006 are tested for pixel integrity, backlight uniformity, and touch/keypad interface response. Units that pass all test stages are issued a DriveKNMS test certificate and dispatched with a defined warranty period.
