Technical Dossier
Q: How are RFQ terms confirmed?
A: Quantity, required condition, documentation needs, destination and sourcing route are confirmed during RFQ review before quotation.
The series covers output ratings from 100W to 7.5kW (single-phase and three-phase variants), with input voltage compatibility across 100–240V AC and 200–230V AC ranges. Its compact DIN-rail and panel-mount form factor has made it a preferred choice for machine builders requiring high torque density in constrained cabinet spaces.
Delta's servo drive product line evolved through several distinct generations. The early ASD-A Series (circa 2005–2010) established the foundational closed-loop servo control architecture with basic pulse/direction command input. The ASD-A2 Series introduced enhanced auto-tuning algorithms and full closed-loop vibration suppression, targeting higher-precision applications.
The ASD-MS Series represents a mid-range, cost-optimized branch of this lineage — retaining the proven ASDA control core while reducing feature overhead for applications that do not require advanced fieldbus (EtherCAT, PROFINET) integration. This makes ASD-MS units directly interchangeable with earlier ASD-A installations in many retrofit scenarios, provided encoder and motor wiring pinouts are verified against the specific revision datasheet.
As of 2024, the ASD-MS Series is in the mature/end-of-active-production phase for several sub-variants. Delta's current flagship servo platform is the ASD-B3 Series and ASDA-A3 Series, which offer IEC 61800-5-1 safety functions (STO, SS1) and EtherCAT native support. For installations where ASD-MS units remain in service, long-term maintenance sourcing is the primary procurement driver.

Q: Can you support multi-unit or repeat RFQ requests?
A: Yes. Send the model list, target quantity and destination so DRIVEKNMS can review sourcing options and quote the requirement as a project RFQ.
Each ASD-MS unit processed by DriveKNMS undergoes a structured inspection protocol designed for servo drive amplifiers with integrated power electronics and encoder interface circuits:
Visual & Mechanical Inspection: PCB surface examination for capacitor bulge, burn marks, corrosion on terminal blocks, and IGBT heatsink integrity. Connector and locking tab condition verified against OEM specification.
Power Stage Verification: DC bus capacitance measurement. IGBT gate drive signal integrity check. Inrush current limiter (NTC thermistor) continuity test.
Encoder Interface Test: Differential line receiver (RS-422) signal integrity verified using a reference encoder simulator at 2500 PPR. A/B/Z channel output confirmed at rated frequency.
Communication Port Test: RS-485 transceiver function verified. CANopen node address response confirmed where applicable.
No-Load Run Test: Unit powered at rated input voltage. All fault codes cleared. Speed command applied via analog input. Output current waveform symmetry verified on all three phases.
Units that do not pass all stages are quarantined and not listed for sale.
