Technical Dossier
Q: How are RFQ terms confirmed?
A: Quantity, required condition, documentation needs, destination and sourcing route are confirmed during RFQ review before quotation.
The DeltaV KJ3002X1 series was introduced as part of Emerson's second-generation DeltaV I/O platform, succeeding the earlier KJ1501 and KJ2201 card families. The architecture shifted from proprietary bus communication to a more open, HART-over-4-20mA signal standard, enabling field device diagnostics without additional wiring infrastructure.
Early revisions (suffix BA1, BB1) focused on basic analog signal conditioning with 8-channel density. Later revisions (BC1, BD1) introduced enhanced EMI shielding, extended operating temperature ranges (−40°C to +70°C), and improved firmware for NAMUR NE107 diagnostic compliance. The series is fully compatible with DeltaV controllers from the MD series through the current SQ series, provided the correct I/O subsystem firmware version is maintained.
The following SKUs represent the core of the KJ3002X1 series, classified by I/O function. Each module is a discrete field-replaceable unit (FRU) designed for hot-swap operation within the DeltaV carrier assembly.

The KJ3002X1 series occupies a critical position in the spare parts lifecycle: it is neither new enough to be readily available through standard distribution channels nor old enough to have been fully decommissioned from active plants. This creates a sourcing gap that procurement teams encounter repeatedly during planned turnarounds and unplanned shutdowns.
The KJ3002X1 series uses a proprietary backplane bus protocol for communication with the DeltaV controller. Standard bench testing with a generic signal generator is insufficient to validate module health — bus communication integrity must be verified under live DeltaV conditions or using a dedicated bus analyzer.
DriveKNMS applies the following test protocol to all KJ3002X1 units prior to shipment:
