Technical Dossier
The GE DS200 series is a family of printed circuit board assemblies developed by GE Energy (now Baker Hughes) for use within the Mark V and Mark VI Speedtronic turbine control systems. These systems are deployed globally in gas turbine, steam turbine, and combined-cycle power generation facilities, including petrochemical plants, nuclear auxiliary systems, offshore platforms, and oil refineries. The DS200 series represents the backbone of turbine protection, sequencing, and I/O interfacing in installations that demand continuous uptime measured in decades. Installed base estimates place Mark V-based systems in thousands of heavy industrial sites worldwide, making DS200 boards among the most critically sourced spare parts in the power generation sector.
The DS200 board family was introduced alongside the Mark V Speedtronic platform in the early 1990s as GE's successor to the Mark IV control system. The Mark V architecture introduced triple-redundant processor voting (R, S, T cores) and distributed I/O via the IONET and ARCNET communication buses. DS200 boards were designed to slot into the Mark V panel backplane, with each board assigned a specific functional role — relay output, analog input, digital I/O, power conditioning, or communication bridging.
The following SKUs represent verified, commonly referenced DS200 series part numbers classified by functional category. Each board is a field-replaceable unit (FRU) within the Mark V panel.
Relay Output Boards
Digital & Analog I/O Boards
Processor & Control Boards
Communication & Network Boards
All DS200 boards in DriveKNMS inventory are catalogued by full part number including revision suffix, which is critical for Mark V compatibility — a board with suffix G1A may not be a drop-in replacement for a G1C revision in all panel positions. Customers are advised to provide the complete part number from the board label or the Mark V Bill of Materials (BOM) when placing inquiries. DriveKNMS can cross-reference revision compatibility and advise on acceptable substitutions where GE engineering documentation supports interchangeability.
DS200 boards present specific test challenges due to their integration with the Mark V backplane bus and the triple-redundant voting architecture. DriveKNMS applies the following verification procedures to all DS200 units prior to shipment:
