Technical Dossier
The GE DS200 series is a family of printed circuit boards and I/O modules developed for the SPEEDTRONIC Mark V and Mark VI turbine control systems. These systems are deployed across gas turbines, steam turbines, and combined-cycle power plants in chemical processing facilities, nuclear power stations, oil refineries, and LNG terminals worldwide. The DS200 platform represents GE's primary control hardware for heavy-duty Frame 6, Frame 7, and Frame 9 gas turbines, with installed base spanning multiple decades across North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific industrial infrastructure.
The DS200TBQCC1AAA is a PC Board (termination and signal conditioning board) within this series, designed to interface field wiring with the core control processors of the Mark V/VI architecture. Its role is to provide reliable signal routing between field instrumentation and the turbine control logic.
The DS200 series originated as the hardware backbone of the SPEEDTRONIC Mark V system, introduced in the early 1990s as GE's successor to the Mark IV platform. Mark V introduced triple-redundant control (TCCA, TCCB, TCCC processors) with dedicated I/O boards for each control channel. The DS200 boards were engineered to operate within this redundant architecture, where each board communicates over the IONet serial bus.
With the transition to Mark VI (introduced circa 2000), GE retained backward-compatible DS200 form factors while migrating the communication backbone from IONet to Ethernet-based IONET and later to the Mark VIe platform using Ethernet I/O packs. Many DS200 boards remain in service in Mark V installations that have not been upgraded, creating sustained demand for spare parts and lifecycle support. The Mark V system reached end-of-production status, placing the entire DS200 catalog in the mature-to-obsolete lifecycle phase. Long-term maintenance support is now the primary use case for DS200 procurement.

DS200 boards present specific testing challenges due to their multi-layer PCB construction, surface-mount component density, and dependence on proprietary GE bus protocols (IONet). DriveKNMS applies the following test procedures to all DS200 inventory:
