Technical Dossier
The IS210 series was introduced alongside the Mark VI turbine control system in the mid-1990s as GE Power's successor to the Mark V platform. Early IS210 modules used VME-based backplane communication and were designed for triple-redundant (TMR) or simplex control configurations. The initial release focused on core I/O: analog input/output boards, discrete I/O termination assemblies, and dedicated processor cards.
With the transition to the Mark VIe platform in the mid-2000s, GE introduced Ethernet-based I/O communication (IONet) while maintaining backward-compatible IS210 form factors for many module types. This created a dual-generation compatibility challenge: IS210 boards designed for Mark VI VME backplanes are not directly interchangeable with Mark VIe Ethernet-native variants without corresponding firmware and backplane verification. Plant engineers upgrading from Mark VI to Mark VIe must audit each IS210 slot individually.
By 2015, GE had formally placed the original Mark VI on a lifecycle sunset path, with end-of-active-support milestones reached for many IS210 sub-variants. The Mark VIe and its successor architectures (Mark VIeS for steam, Mark VIeC for combined cycle) continue to use IS210-form-factor modules, but original Mark VI IS210 assemblies are now sourced exclusively through the aftermarket. This lifecycle status makes verified surplus inventory from specialized distributors the primary supply channel for maintenance and emergency replacement.
The following SKUs represent confirmed IS210 series assemblies categorized by functional role. Each entry reflects a distinct board assembly with a defined role within the Mark VI / Mark VIe control architecture.

For obsolete IS210 variants not listed in current inventory, DriveKNMS operates a global sourcing network to locate specific hardware revisions. Customers with multi-unit requirements or standing maintenance contracts are encouraged to submit a consolidated parts list for priority allocation.
IS210 modules present specific test challenges due to their VME backplane interface, multi-layer PCB construction, and mixed analog/digital signal paths. DriveKNMS applies the following verification procedures to all IS210 units prior to shipment:
All tested units are shipped in anti-static packaging with desiccant and are accompanied by a DriveKNMS inspection report.
