Technical Dossier
The 10002 Series was introduced as part of Honeywell's TDC 3000 platform, which succeeded the TDC 2000 architecture in the early 1980s. The platform was designed around a proprietary Local Control Network (LCN) and Universal Control Network (UCN), enabling distributed processing across geographically separated control nodes. Early 10002 modules operated on parallel backplane buses with fixed-function I/O assignments. As the platform matured through the 1990s, Honeywell introduced enhanced variants with improved noise immunity, higher channel density, and support for HART field device communication. The FSC (Fail-Safe Controller) derivative of the TDC 3000 platform extended the 10002 module family into SIL 2 and SIL 3 safety instrumented system (SIS) applications, requiring dedicated redundancy management and diagnostic coverage. Compatibility between early-generation and late-generation 10002 modules is constrained by firmware revision levels and backplane slot assignments — cross-generation substitution requires engineering validation. Modern replacement pathways include migration to Honeywell Experion PKS with C300 controllers, though the installed base of TDC 3000 systems continues to demand original 10002 Series hardware for brownfield maintenance.
The following SKUs represent verified components within the Honeywell 10002 Series and associated TDC 3000 / FSC module ecosystem. Modules are classified by primary function:
Controllers & Processors
Digital Input (DI) Modules
Digital Output (DO) Modules
Analog Input (AI) Modules
Communication & Network Adapters
Power Supply Modules
