Technical Dossier
The 900P01-0301 and 900P01-0401 are 60W DC power supply modules designed to provide regulated bus power to HC900 controller racks. The 900P01-0301 operates on 100–240V AC input, while the 900P01-0401 is the 24V DC input variant — both delivering identical 60W output capacity to the rack backplane. These units are field-replaceable without rack shutdown when a redundant power supply is present.
The Honeywell 900 Series traces its lineage to the HC900 Hybrid Controller platform introduced in the early 2000s as a mid-range process controller bridging PLC-style I/O flexibility with DCS-grade process management. Early revisions (Revision A/B hardware) used a proprietary backplane bus operating at lower clock speeds with limited module counts per rack. Revision C and later hardware introduced expanded rack capacity (up to 16 I/O slots), dual-redundant controller support, and Ethernet-based peer communication replacing earlier serial links.
The power supply subsystem evolved in parallel: early 40W supplies (900P01-0101) were superseded by the 60W generation (900P01-0301 / 900P01-0401) to support higher-density I/O configurations and the increased power draw of communication modules. The 900 Series is now in a mature/end-of-active-development lifecycle phase. Honeywell continues to provide spare parts and firmware maintenance but has directed new project engineering toward the Experion PKS C300 and Safety Manager SC platforms. For existing 900 Series installations, long-term maintenance sourcing of power supplies, I/O modules, and controller cards is the primary operational concern for plant engineering teams.

The HC900 backplane uses a proprietary parallel bus architecture that requires module-level electrical validation beyond simple power-on testing. DriveKNMS applies the following test protocol to all 900 Series power supply and I/O modules prior to shipment:
