The Evolution of A413143 Architecture

The A413143 module family was introduced as part of the Metso DNA (formerly Neles Controls / Valmet Automation) distributed control platform during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Early revisions used parallel backplane communication with proprietary Metso field bus protocols. Subsequent hardware revisions introduced improved EMC shielding, extended operating temperature ranges, and enhanced diagnostic registers accessible via the DNA Engineering workstation. The series is compatible with Metso DNA Field Station cabinets using the standard 19-inch rack form factor and the A413000-series backplane connectors. As the Metso DNA platform transitioned toward the DNA Next Generation (DNA NG) architecture in the 2010s, the A413143 series entered a mature/end-of-active-production phase. Metso (now Valmet) continues to provide limited OEM support, but the primary supply channel for replacement modules has shifted to certified third-party distributors and refurbished spare parts specialists.
