Technical Dossier
The Mitsubishi Electric MR-JE series is a general-purpose AC servo amplifier platform deployed across heavy industrial sectors including petrochemical plants, steel mills, automotive assembly lines, paper manufacturing, and water treatment facilities. Designed as a cost-optimized entry point into Mitsubishi's MELSERVO ecosystem, the MR-JE series supports SSCNET III/H fiber-optic communication and pulse-train command interfaces, making it compatible with both legacy and modern Mitsubishi controller architectures including the MELSEC iQ-R, iQ-F, and Q-series PLCs. Rated output ranges from 100W to 3kW, the series covers a broad spectrum of axis control requirements in multi-axis machine tool and packaging line configurations.
The MR-JE series was introduced as a simplified derivative of the MR-J4 platform, retaining the core 22-bit encoder resolution and SSCNET III/H compatibility while removing advanced features such as full closed-loop control and STO (Safe Torque Off) safety functions present in the MR-J4 and MR-J5 lines. This architectural decision positioned MR-JE as the preferred solution for cost-sensitive OEM machine builders who do not require functional safety certification.
Early MR-JE units (circa 2014–2016) shipped with firmware supporting only pulse-train positioning. Subsequent firmware revisions introduced speed and torque control modes, expanding compatibility with third-party motion controllers. The MR-JE-_A suffix denotes the standard pulse-train variant, while the MR-JE-_B suffix indicates SSCNET III/H network-compatible units for use with Mitsubishi Simple Motion modules (LD77MS, RD77MS series).
As of 2024, the MR-JE series has entered the mature/end-of-active-development phase. Mitsubishi Electric has positioned the MR-J5 series as the recommended migration path. However, MR-JE units remain in active production and are supported under Mitsubishi's standard 10-year spare parts availability policy. For installations requiring long-term maintenance beyond this window, DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated buffer stock program for MR-JE amplifiers and compatible HF-KN/HF-SN servo motors.
The following SKUs represent the verified production range of the Mitsubishi Electric MR-JE series. Units are classified by interface type (A = pulse-train, B = SSCNET III/H) and rated output power.

DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory program for Mitsubishi Electric MR-JE series amplifiers, including units that have been discontinued from standard distribution channels or are subject to extended lead times from the OEM. Our sourcing protocol covers the following scenarios:
Units with damaged CN2 encoder connectors or blown IPM (Intelligent Power Module) stages are accepted for exchange-repair programs. DriveKNMS holds tested-good exchange units for MR-JE-10A through MR-JE-300A and MR-JE-10B through MR-JE-300B. For end-users operating MR-JE amplifiers in critical continuous-process environments (chemical reactors, extrusion lines, CNC machining centers), we offer consignment stock agreements to guarantee same-week dispatch of replacement units. All sourced units are cross-referenced against Mitsubishi Electric's serial number database to verify production batch and firmware revision compatibility prior to shipment.
Each MR-JE series unit processed by DriveKNMS undergoes a structured test protocol designed around the amplifier's internal architecture:
Power Stage Verification: DC bus voltage ramp test at 10%, 50%, and 100% rated input. IPM gate drive signal integrity check via oscilloscope.
Encoder Interface Test: 22-bit serial encoder simulation using Mitsubishi-compatible encoder emulator. Verification of CN2 pin continuity and differential signal levels.
Communication Interface Test (MR-JE-_B units): SSCNET III/H optical loopback test. Axis recognition verification using MR Configurator2 software connected to a reference LD77MS4 module.
Parameter Restore & Functional Run Test: Factory parameter initialization (PR C-1 reset). No-load motor run at 500 rpm, 1000 rpm, and rated speed. Alarm history cleared and test report issued with unit.
