Technical Dossier
The Omron C200PC series represents a critical segment of Omron's C200H/C200PC programmable controller platform, deployed extensively across global heavy industry including petrochemical refineries, nuclear auxiliary systems, automotive assembly lines, and continuous-process chemical plants. The C200PC-ISA13-SRM-E is a Sysmac Bus Remote I/O master module designed for ISA-bus PC integration, enabling host PC-based supervisory control over distributed C200H remote I/O racks. This architecture was a standard solution for SCADA-integrated DCS environments throughout the 1990s and 2000s and remains operational in numerous legacy installations requiring long-term maintenance support.
The C200PC platform emerged as Omron's response to the demand for PC-integrated industrial control in the early 1990s. It bridged the C200H modular PLC backplane with ISA-bus host computers, allowing engineers to run ladder logic supervision and data acquisition from a single industrial PC. The architecture relied on the Sysmac Bus (also called the Sysmac Link or SRM bus) as its primary communication backbone, operating at defined baud rates over dedicated coaxial or twisted-pair cabling.
Early versions of the C200PC interface cards were limited to single-master configurations. Subsequent revisions introduced multi-drop remote I/O capability, allowing a single ISA card to address multiple remote I/O racks across distances up to several hundred meters. Compatibility constraints are significant: C200PC ISA modules are physically and electrically incompatible with PCI, PCIe, or USB bus architectures. Migration to modern Omron platforms (CJ2, NX, NJ series) requires full hardware replacement and typically a complete I/O remapping exercise. For installations where the host PC hardware is still operational, the C200PC-ISA13-SRM-E remains the only direct replacement option.
The following SKUs represent verified, commonly sourced modules within the Omron C200PC and closely integrated C200H platform. Modules are classified by functional category.
SRM / Remote I/O Master Modules (ISA Bus)
CPU / Controller Modules
Digital Input (DI) Modules
Digital Output (DO) Modules
Analog I/O Modules

The C200PC ISA-bus product line has been discontinued by Omron. ISA bus architecture itself became obsolete with the transition to PCI in the mid-1990s, meaning no new-production ISA-compatible hardware exists. For facilities still operating C200PC-based systems, the only viable sourcing strategy is the secondary market for tested, refurbished, or new-old-stock (NOS) units.
DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of C200PC and C200H legacy modules, including the C200PC-ISA13-SRM-E, sourced from decommissioned plant equipment, authorized distributor overstock, and controlled warehouse storage. All units are catalogued by revision level and firmware version where applicable. For facilities requiring long-term maintenance agreements or scheduled spare parts provisioning, DriveKNMS offers multi-year supply contracts with guaranteed stock reservation. Inquiries for bill-of-materials (BOM) matching, cross-referencing to Omron replacement equivalents, or end-of-life migration planning are handled directly by our technical sales team.
C200PC ISA modules present specific test challenges due to their dual-interface nature: the ISA bus edge connector must be verified for signal integrity across all address, data, and control lines, while the Sysmac Remote I/O port requires functional validation against a live C200H remote I/O rack or a calibrated bus simulator.
DriveKNMS applies the following test protocol to all C200PC-ISA13-SRM-E and related SRM modules: (1) Visual inspection of ISA gold fingers for oxidation, mechanical damage, and pin continuity; (2) ISA bus loopback test using a dedicated ISA test fixture to verify all 98 bus lines; (3) Sysmac SRM communication test — the module is installed in a verified ISA test PC running Omron's C200PC driver software and polled against a reference C200H remote I/O rack to confirm master/slave handshake, I/O data exchange, and error flag behavior; (4) Thermal soak at operating temperature range (0–55°C) for a minimum of 2 hours under active communication load; (5) Final documentation of test results, firmware revision, and hardware revision code issued with each unit.
