The Evolution of PanelView Plus 7 Architecture

Rockwell Automation's operator interface terminal lineage progressed through PanelView (1985–2000), PanelView Plus (2711P-Bxxxx, 2003–2010), PanelView Plus 6 (2711P-Bxxxx enhanced, 2010–2015), and PanelView Plus 7 Standard/Performance (2711P-Rxxxx / 2711P-Txxxx, 2015–present). The 2711P-R and 2711P-T prefixes denote the Plus 7 generation, with the R-series covering resistive touch and keypad variants and the T-series covering capacitive touch-only units. Key architectural changes in the Plus 7 generation include a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor (Standard) or Intel Atom (Performance), integrated USB host/device ports, SD card slot for project backup, and dual Ethernet ports on Performance models. Compatibility with FactoryTalk View ME 8.x and above is required; projects created on Plus 6 require migration using FactoryTalk View Studio.
