The PowerFlex 755 was introduced by Rockwell Automation as the successor to the PowerFlex 700 and PowerFlex 700H platforms, addressing limitations in scalability, network integration, and embedded safety. The original 20A (standard) and 20G (high power) frame variants established the catalog structure still in use today. Early firmware revisions (pre-v4.x) lacked full Safe Torque Off (STO) support and required external safety relays; this was resolved in the v5.x firmware generation, which introduced SIL 2 / PLd-rated integrated safety functions.
