Technical Dossier
The Fuji Electric RYC series represents a mature, field-proven line of AC servo drives deployed extensively across global heavy industry sectors including petrochemical refineries, nuclear power auxiliary systems, steel rolling mills, and large-scale chemical processing plants. Characterized by their compact DIN-rail-compatible form factor and robust IGBT-based power stage, RYC units have accumulated decades of installed base in applications demanding precise torque control, high-cycle positioning, and continuous-duty operation under harsh ambient conditions. The series spans output ratings from sub-100W to multi-kilowatt configurations, making it a standard reference in OEM machine tool builds and process automation retrofits alike.
The RYC series was introduced as part of Fuji Electric's second-generation FALDIC servo platform, succeeding the earlier RY series and establishing a standardized communication and parameter architecture that persisted across multiple hardware revisions. Early RYC variants utilized analog command interfaces (±10V velocity/torque reference) with incremental encoder feedback. Subsequent revisions introduced pulse-train position command compatibility, enabling direct integration with Fuji MICREX-SX and third-party PLCs without external signal conditioning.
The C3 hardware revision, as present in the RYC202C3-VVT2, introduced enhanced EMC filtering, revised IGBT gate drive circuitry for improved short-circuit robustness, and updated parameter memory architecture. The VVT2 suffix denotes the velocity/torque dual-mode control variant with the second-generation tuning algorithm. Compatibility with the FALDIC-W and FALDIC-α resolver/encoder families is maintained across the C3 revision, though parameter migration from pre-C2 units requires the dedicated SX-DSV02 loader software. As the broader FALDIC platform has transitioned toward the FALDIC-W2 and α2 successors, the RYC series has entered its lifecycle maintenance phase, with Fuji Electric and authorized distributors such as DriveKNMS providing continued spare parts and repair support.
The following SKUs represent verified, commonly stocked models within the Fuji Electric RYC servo drive series, organized by functional category and output rating:

The RYC series has entered its lifecycle maintenance and end-of-production phase. Fuji Electric's current servo platform roadmap centers on the FALDIC-W2 and α2 families, meaning new RYC unit production runs are no longer scheduled. For facilities operating legacy machinery built around RYC drives — including CNC lathes, injection molding machines, and automated assembly lines — sourcing replacement units through the standard distribution channel is increasingly unreliable.
DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of new-old-stock (NOS), refurbished, and tested-serviceable RYC series units. Our sourcing network covers original Fuji Electric warehouse stock, decommissioned OEM machine inventories, and verified third-party surplus channels. All units are cross-referenced against Fuji Electric's internal part number database prior to listing. For discontinued variants where NOS stock is exhausted, DriveKNMS offers board-level repair services using original Fuji Electric replacement components where available, or qualified equivalent components where OEM parts are no longer manufactured. Customers requiring long-term maintenance agreements for RYC-equipped production lines are encouraged to contact our technical team to discuss consignment stocking arrangements and multi-year supply contracts.
RYC series drives incorporate a multi-layer backplane communication architecture between the control board, power board, and I/O interface board. Standard incoming inspection procedures at DriveKNMS include: full DC bus capacitance measurement against Fuji Electric's published derating curves; IGBT gate drive signal integrity verification using isolated oscilloscope probes; encoder feedback signal simulation using a calibrated pulse generator to confirm position loop closure; and thermal imaging of the power stage under 50% rated load for a minimum 30-minute soak period to identify latent solder joint failures or degraded thermal interface material.
For units exhibiting fault history stored in non-volatile parameter memory, a full parameter read-back and fault log extraction is performed using the SX-DSV02 loader prior to any repair intervention. Units are returned to factory default parameters and re-commissioned against a matched Fuji GYS or GYB series servo motor on our in-house dynamometer test bench before shipment.
