The Series 90-30 platform was introduced in the early 1990s as a successor to GE's Series Six and Series Five PLC lines. The IC693 designation covered the original 3.3V logic generation; the IC694 designation marked the transition to an enhanced backplane bus with improved throughput and expanded I/O addressing.
