Technical Dossier
ICS Triplex introduced the T8000 platform in the late 1980s as a successor to earlier TMR architectures. The initial release established the core backplane bus topology and the triple-channel voting logic that defines the series. Through the 1990s, the platform expanded its I/O module range to accommodate the growing diversity of field instrumentation in refinery and power generation environments. Early modules such as the T8110 and T8120 established the analogue and digital I/O framework. The 2000s saw the introduction of enhanced communication adapters and higher-density I/O modules to reduce panel footprint. By the 2010s, ICS Triplex — operating under Rockwell Automation following acquisition — began transitioning customers toward the AADvance platform as the strategic successor. The T8000 series formally entered end-of-life status, though Rockwell Automation and authorized third-party suppliers continue to provide spare parts and repair services to support the large installed base. Compatibility between early and late T8000 modules is generally maintained at the backplane level, but firmware revisions and chassis generations must be verified before substitution.
