Technical Dossier
The DKC10.3 is the third-generation compact drive controller within the INDRAMAT DIAX04 drive system ecosystem, succeeding the DKC01.x and DKC02.x families. It introduced a unified firmware platform (MKD/MHD motor compatibility), standardized 24 VDC control voltage, and a modular option card slot architecture that allowed field-configurable communication interfaces without hardware redesign.
Early DKC10.3 units shipped with firmware versions 01VRS through 04VRS, each addressing specific interpolation accuracy, error response, and fieldbus timing improvements. The transition from 01VRS to 02VRS resolved a known issue with SERCOS ring initialization under high node counts. Firmware 03VRS introduced enhanced diagnostic memory and extended the supported motor encoder types. The 04VRS branch added compatibility with newer Rexroth IndraDrive parameter structures, easing migration planning.
The following SKUs represent verified, commonly sourced models within the INDRAMAT DKC10.3 series. Each unit is a single-axis compact servo drive controller designed for integration into DIAX04 multi-axis systems.
DKC10.3-012-3-MGP-01VRS: 12A continuous, 3-phase, PROFIBUS-DP, firmware 01VRS — standard axis controller for coordinated motion.
DKC10.3-012-3-MGP-02VRS: 12A continuous, PROFIBUS-DP, firmware 02VRS — improved SERCOS ring init stability.
DKC10.3-012-3-MGP-03VRS: 12A continuous, PROFIBUS-DP, firmware 03VRS — extended encoder type support.
DKC10.3-012-3-MGP-04VRS: 12A continuous, PROFIBUS-DP, firmware 04VRS — IndraDrive parameter compatibility layer.

DKC10.3-012-3-MGS-02VRS: 12A continuous, SERCOS, firmware 02VRS — ring initialization fix for large node counts.
DKC10.3-040-3-MGS-01VRS: 40A continuous, SERCOS interface — multi-axis synchronized motion control.
DKC10.3-040-3-MGS-02VRS: 40A continuous, SERCOS, firmware 02VRS — improved cycle time accuracy.
DKC10.3-100-3-MGS-01VRS: 100A continuous, SERCOS — high-power coordinated axis, steel and paper industry.
DKC10.3-012-3-MGI-01VRS: 12A continuous, Interbus-S interface — legacy fieldbus integration for older PLC architectures.
DKC10.3-040-3-MGI-01VRS: 40A continuous, Interbus-S — mid-range axis for Interbus-S ring topologies.
DKC10.3-100-3-MGI-01VRS: 100A continuous, Interbus-S — high-current axis for legacy bus-integrated systems.
The DKC10.3 series reached end-of-production status under Bosch Rexroth's product lifecycle management. New units are no longer manufactured, and OEM repair support has been formally discontinued for early firmware variants. This creates a sourcing gap for facilities operating DIAX04 systems under 10–20 year maintenance horizons — a common scenario in nuclear auxiliary systems, continuous process chemical plants, and long-cycle capital equipment.
The DKC10.3 presents specific test challenges due to its integrated backplane bus interface, option card slot architecture, and firmware-dependent parameter structure. DriveKNMS applies a structured test protocol to each unit prior to dispatch:
Power stage verification is conducted at rated current class (12A / 40A / 100A) using a resistive load bank and calibrated current measurement. IGBT switching integrity is confirmed via dynamic load cycling. The SERCOS or PROFIBUS interface card is tested in a live ring or segment configuration using a reference PLC to verify telegram exchange, node addressing, and error response. Firmware version is read and documented; units with corrupted or mismatched firmware are reflashed using verified image files before dispatch. The 24 VDC control supply input, enable logic, and E-Stop response are verified against INDRAMAT functional specification. All test results are logged and supplied with the unit on request.
