Technical Dossier
The Semitool HV-RP (High Voltage Resist Process) platform is a purpose-engineered control architecture deployed across semiconductor wet-process equipment, including resist strip, electrochemical deposition (ECD), and surface preparation tools. Semitool systems are installed in volume at leading semiconductor fabs, MEMS foundries, and advanced packaging facilities globally. The HV-RP control block family — anchored by part numbers in the 900T, 810, and 0010 series — provides the distributed I/O, process chamber sequencing, and high-voltage interlock logic that governs wafer-level chemical exposure cycles. These modules are found in Semitool Raider, Equinox, and legacy batch wet bench platforms operating in 200mm and 300mm fabs across North America, Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
Semitool's control electronics evolved through three distinct generations. The first-generation architecture (circa 1995–2002) used discrete relay-based I/O boards with proprietary backplane communication over RS-422. These boards — identified by 800-series part numbers — provided basic chamber sequencing with limited diagnostics. The second generation (2002–2010) introduced the 810-series backplane with distributed control nodes, enabling multi-chamber synchronization and improved fault isolation. The 900T-series control blocks, including the 900T0272-503, represent the mature second-generation architecture with enhanced HV interlock logic and expanded analog I/O for temperature and pressure feedback loops. The third generation transitioned to Ethernet-based fieldbus (EtherCAT) and is not backward-compatible with 810-series backplanes. As a result, the 900T/810/0010 family is now in the sustained-support phase: no new production, but high demand for replacement units in fabs that have not yet migrated platforms. Long-term maintenance sourcing is the primary procurement driver for this series.

The Semitool HV-RP 900T/810/0010 series reached end-of-manufacture status. OEM replacement units are no longer available through standard distribution channels. DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory of tested surplus, refurbished, and new-old-stock (NOS) units for this series. Our sourcing network covers decommissioned fab equipment, authorized refurbishers, and direct estate acquisitions from closed semiconductor facilities. For critical production tools where downtime cost exceeds equipment replacement value, DriveKNMS provides: (1) immediate ship from verified stock, (2) cross-reference matching for superseded part numbers, (3) long-term supply agreements for fabs with multi-year maintenance windows, and (4) consignment evaluation for customer-owned spare pools. All obsolete HV-RP units are processed through our standard refurbishment workflow before dispatch.
HV-RP chamber control blocks and backplane I/O modules require specialized test procedures due to their mixed-voltage architecture and proprietary bus communication protocol. DriveKNMS applies the following test sequence to all HV-RP units: (1) Visual and mechanical inspection — connector integrity, PCB condition, component-level assessment for electrolytic capacitor aging and relay contact wear. (2) Powered bench test — 24VDC rail verification, HV interlock bus continuity check at rated voltage, analog I/O channel calibration against reference standard. (3) Backplane communication test — RS-422/RS-485 bus loopback using Semitool-compatible protocol emulator, verifying node address assignment and data frame integrity. (4) Functional simulation — chamber sequence emulation using test fixture replicating Semitool Raider/Equinox I/O map, confirming all digital outputs switch correctly under software command. (5) Burn-in — 48-hour powered soak at elevated ambient temperature to screen latent component failures. Units that pass all five stages are issued a DriveKNMS test certificate and shipped with full traceability documentation.
