Technical Dossier
The ADM series was introduced alongside the CENTUM CS platform in the early 1990s as a modular, rack-mounted I/O architecture. Early-generation modules used parallel backplane communication with proprietary Yokogawa bus protocols. With the transition to CENTUM CS 3000 (late 1990s), the ADM series was updated to support enhanced diagnostics and improved EMI tolerance, while maintaining backward compatibility with existing field wiring and marshalling cabinets.
The CENTUM VP generation (introduced mid-2000s) introduced the FIO (Field I/O) architecture as the strategic successor, offering Vnet/IP Ethernet-based communication and higher channel density. However, the ADM series remained supported for brownfield expansions and lifecycle extensions. Many ADM modules are now classified as mature or end-of-life by Yokogawa, meaning OEM production has ceased or is limited to service orders. This creates a sustained demand for tested surplus and refurbished ADM modules to support ongoing plant operations without full system migration.

Communication & Specialty Modules
ADM series modules use a proprietary Yokogawa backplane bus with edge-connector interfaces that are sensitive to oxidation and mechanical wear. DriveKNMS applies a structured inspection and test protocol to all ADM modules prior to shipment:
