Technical Dossier
The MAC2 series was developed as part of YOKOGAWA's CENTUM-XL and CENTUM CS platform ecosystem. Early MAC2 modules operated on a proprietary backplane bus with parallel I/O addressing, designed for deterministic scan-cycle performance in safety-critical loops. As YOKOGAWA transitioned to the CENTUM CS 3000 and subsequently CENTUM VP platforms, the MAC2 hardware entered a compatibility bridge phase — many facilities retained MAC2 field wiring and marshalling cabinets while upgrading controller nodes. This created a sustained demand for MAC2 spare modules, particularly analog control cards and communication adapters, as replacements for aging installed units. The series is now classified as mature/end-of-life by YOKOGAWA, with no new production. Long-term maintenance support, including tested surplus and refurbished units, is the primary sourcing channel for facilities not yet migrated to CENTUM VP.
The following SKUs represent verified MAC2 series modules categorized by functional role. Each entry reflects a distinct hardware type within the CENTUM-XL / CENTUM CS architecture.
