The ABB DCS series DC drives were deployed extensively in steel mills, paper plants, mining operations, and heavy process industries throughout the 1990s and 2000s. The NGDR-03C board serves as the gate driver interface — it translates control signals into precise thyristor firing pulses that regulate motor speed and torque. Without a functioning NGDR-03C, the entire drive is inoperable.
