Technical Dossier
The C300 platform was introduced as part of Experion PKS R200 in the mid-2000s, succeeding the C200 controller and the earlier TPS-era HPM (High-Performance Process Manager). The architectural shift introduced a dedicated FTE (Fault Tolerant Ethernet) backplane, replacing the UCN (Universal Control Network) bus used in TPS systems. This transition created a compatibility boundary: TPS-era I/O modules (Series C, MC-series) are not directly interchangeable with C300-native IOTA (I/O Termination Assembly) hardware without gateway adapters.
Subsequent Experion PKS releases (R300, R400, R410, R500, R501) progressively extended C300 firmware capabilities, adding support for HART pass-through, advanced process control integration, and expanded redundancy options. The TC-CCR014 Redundant Net Interface module specifically addresses the FTE redundancy layer, enabling dual-path network failover at the controller level — a critical requirement in SIL-rated and high-availability process units. Later revisions introduced the IOLIM (I/O Link Interface Module) for remote I/O expansion and the EPDG (Experion Process Data Gateway) for historian integration, further extending the C300's operational envelope without requiring controller replacement.
The following SKUs represent verified, commonly deployed modules within the Honeywell Experion PKS C300 ecosystem. Classifications follow Honeywell's functional taxonomy: Controller (CPU), Network Interface (NI), I/O Module (AI/AO/DI/DO), Power (PWR), and Communication Adapter (CA).

Communication & Power
C300 series modules incorporate a multi-layer backplane communication architecture using the FTE protocol stack over standard 100BASE-TX Ethernet physical layer. Quality verification for these modules requires protocol-level testing beyond standard power-on checks. DriveKNMS applies the following test sequence to all C300 modules prior to shipment:
