Technical Dossier
The MCGS TPC7062 series represents one of the most widely deployed 7-inch HMI (Human-Machine Interface) product lines in Chinese industrial automation. Manufactured by Beijing MCGS Technology Co., Ltd. (北京昆仑通态), these touch screen terminals are installed across heavy industrial sectors including petrochemical plants, water treatment facilities, power generation stations, cement production lines, and discrete manufacturing environments. The TPC7062 platform operates on the MCGS Embedded configuration software ecosystem and communicates natively with PLCs from Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, Delta, and other major vendors via RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet interfaces. Its compact 7-inch TFT LCD panel (800×480 resolution), ARM-based processor architecture, and wide operating temperature range (0–55°C) make it a standard specification component in both OEM machine builds and plant-level SCADA edge terminals.
The TPC7062 line was introduced as part of MCGS's second-generation embedded HMI platform, succeeding the earlier TPC7060 series. The original TPC7062 variants used a 400 MHz ARM9 processor with 128 MB Flash and 64 MB SDRAM, running a proprietary RTOS. Subsequent hardware revisions introduced the TPC7062HI and TPC7062KX sub-variants, which upgraded the CPU to a Cortex-A8 core running at 600 MHz, doubled the RAM to 128 MB DDR, and added USB Host/Device ports for peripheral connectivity. The TPC7062Ti variant introduced a resistive touch panel with enhanced EMI shielding for use in high-interference environments such as inverter cabinets and welding stations. Later revisions added support for MCGS Cloud connectivity and OPC UA protocol stacks. As of 2024, the TPC7062 series is in the mature/end-of-active-production phase; MCGS has transitioned new designs to the TPC7102 and TPC8102 platforms. However, the installed base of TPC7062 units in legacy systems remains substantial, and long-term maintenance support (spare parts, firmware archives, configuration software compatibility) remains a primary procurement requirement for plant maintenance teams globally.
The following SKUs represent verified models within the MCGS TPC7062 series, organized by hardware variant and interface configuration:
TPC7062HI: 7-inch ARM Cortex-A8 HMI, 800×480 TFT, RS-232/RS-485/Ethernet, USB Host, standard bezel.
TPC7062KX: 7-inch HMI with expanded communication ports; dual RS-485 channels, enhanced protocol library.
TPC7062Ti: 7-inch resistive touch HMI, reinforced EMI shielding, rated for high-interference cabinet installation.
TPC7062H: Base 7-inch HMI variant, ARM9 400 MHz, RS-232/RS-485, no Ethernet, legacy configuration.
TPC7062K: 7-inch HMI with RS-485 and CANbus interface option, used in vehicle and mobile equipment applications.
TPC7062S: Slim-profile 7-inch HMI, reduced depth for shallow panel cutouts, single RS-485 port.
TPC7062E: Economy-grade 7-inch HMI, reduced memory spec, targeted at cost-sensitive OEM applications.
TPC7062EX: Extended-temperature variant (-10–60°C), designed for outdoor enclosure and cold-chain applications.

TPC7062BT: 7-inch HMI with Bluetooth 4.0 interface, for handheld and portable HMI configurations.
TPC7062-4G: 7-inch HMI with 4G LTE modem, for IoT edge terminal and remote site monitoring deployments.
DriveKNMS maintains a dedicated inventory program for MCGS TPC7062 series units, including models that have been discontinued from MCGS's active production schedule. For plant maintenance teams operating legacy DCS or SCADA systems built around TPC7062 terminals, unplanned HMI failure creates immediate production risk. DriveKNMS addresses this through three sourcing channels: new-old-stock (NOS) units sourced from authorized distributor closeouts, professionally refurbished units restored to factory specification, and tested-used units supplied with full functional verification reports. All TPC7062 units in DriveKNMS inventory are cross-referenced against MCGS firmware version compatibility matrices to ensure the supplied unit is compatible with the customer's existing MCGS Embedded project files. For customers requiring long-term supply agreements (LTA) covering 3–5 years of maintenance stock, DriveKNMS offers consignment inventory programs with guaranteed unit availability and fixed pricing.
The TPC7062 series presents specific quality verification challenges due to its integrated backplane communication bus, resistive/capacitive touch digitizer, and multi-port serial interface circuitry. DriveKNMS applies a structured test protocol to every TPC7062 unit prior to shipment. The display subsystem is verified for pixel uniformity, backlight luminance (minimum 300 cd/m²), and touch registration accuracy across the full active area. The communication interfaces (RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet) are tested under load using protocol-specific test frames to verify signal integrity and termination resistance. The USB Host port is verified for enumeration and data transfer with standard peripheral classes. The internal Flash memory is read-verified against known-good firmware images, and the RTC (real-time clock) battery is replaced as standard on all refurbished units. Units are powered through a 24 VDC burn-in cycle for a minimum of 4 hours before final inspection. Each unit ships with a test report documenting pass/fail results for all subsystems.
